![]() ![]() Guild Mission Statement Alat-Seldi is a small guild which traverses MMoG's. Essentially our membership is intended to range between one and three full groups (roughly 8-15 people) with some fluctuation as needed. Our members are typically working adults with families, careers, and all those important things. Because we have active enough real lives, we try to keep our gameplay light hearted and low stress (more the latter). Soap Operas are simply unneeded; they make bad television and worse entertainment. Guild Membership If you have ever worn Alat-Seldi colors in a game we have played, you are a member. One cavaet to this, if you've ever left Alat-Seldi in a game we are active in, that decision is respected. Considering the few people this covers; you likely are still close friends, you're just not family. Questions pertaining to membership status should be directed to Nicophorus. Spouses, Family, and Close Friends of guild members are "in" by default. They do not necessarily have voting rights (unless they choose to go through the Peering process), but this guild is a family at heart. In general this guild does not recruit. When a potential candidate is identified, we go through a process of informal evaluation. This includes grouping and in game (and board) interaction. Once a good fit has been acknowledge both by the guild and the potential recruit, membership is offered. During the evaluation phase, potential invitees are given a guild tag to wear only when grouped with guild members. We haven't all decided we "fit" yet, so when not grouped with AS, they need to not be tagged. Simply stated, we're not comfortable letting them represent the guild in non group environments. Regular membership follows (normally). In this phase, the guild member wears their guild tag at all times and has access to guild private forums (not Peer however). Guild Members have priority in grouping and raiding situations during guild outings. Peering is a final stage of guild membership. Peering is offered after a consensus is reached by the existing active Peers. Peered members gain access to the Peer message board and have voting rights in the Peering process. Looting Policies We take the position that item distribution goes towards making the guild, as a whole, better. This means that in general, items go to the individual for whom the item represents the largest necessary benefit. We tend to use a Master Looting method with selling and split of cash items at the end of each session. Merchanting (Auctioning, etc.) items are typically sold and banked to purchase gear for guild updates (i.e. buying really good items for different guild members). As a guild we support our crafters. During guild outings (and at other times when possible) all resources gained go to the designated appropriate crafter. As a return on this, our crafters typically level faster and can support the guild with items. Raiding Policies Formal "raids" are occaisionally called. These raids are generally open to all members of the guild, friends of the guild (alliance guilds, etc.), and potential future members. During raids (large events, not simply hunting sessions), loot priority switches to random with qualifications (i.e. must be able to use and will equip the item). In raid situations, Master Looting is still in force. Non guild raid members will be compensated for needed reagants, other profits from the raid become the property of Alat-Seldi for distribution among our members. Raiding policy for AS hosted raids is generally not subject to negotiation with outside parties. TeamSpeak This guild uses TeamSpeak. We do not require that you "speak" in TS, but we do prefer that you at least listen in. TS speeds up our conversations and increases our ability to understand what's going on, to that end at least listening in is desirable. Links to the TS servers used by AS are found on the menu bar. |
